- Your completed UNSIGNED declaration
- Proof of Identity (Passport)

What to bring for witnessing of property/bank documents:
- Written instructions from one of the following: Australian legal practitioner, law practiced licensed conveyance, mortgagee (eg. your bank)
- Proof of Identity (Passport)
- Correctly prepared forms

What we cannot do:
- Witness foreign documents
- Witness declarations to be used outside of Australia
- Witness declarations that are not in the correct format
- Provide advice on the requirements of your document.

Children aged 16-17 years are REQUIRED to attend the appointment along with one parent or person with parental responsibility for the child.

Children under 16 years of age do not need to attend the passport interview.

Group (3 or more) passport applications

This service is for having documents issued with an Apostille or an Authentication certificate (legalisation).

Legalisation describes the process whereby the signature, seal or stamp on an original public document is verified by a series of public officials along a ‘chain of authentication’ or ‘authentication chain’

We can only legalise original Australian public documents. There are two types of public documents:
• Documents issued directly by an Australian government agency or official (Federal, state or territory).
• Documents that have been notarised or certified by an Australian notary public.

Lost, stolen or damaged passport

This service is for the witnessing of signatures on a Notice of Intended Marriage form or a Certificate of no-Impediment to Marriage form.

What to bring:
- Valid Identification (passport).
- Completed but UNSIGNED No-Impediment to Marriage form (available from www.smartraveller.gov.au).
- If applicable, divorce/death certificate from a previous marriage.

The Australian High Commission cannot provide advice on the local laws/requirements.
